[All OK]
This is an update to yesterday's posts about access to our Pay-As-You-Host and Just-The-Name services:
http://servicestatus.net/index?id=868
http://servicestatus.net/index?id=869
http://servicestatus.net/index?id=870

The problem was caused by a faulty line card belonging to one of our network switches.

Our engineers have now removed the problematic hardware component and have reverted the temporary changes that were made whilst the problem was being experienced.

Apologies for the inconvenience.

Kind Regards,

[Services Down]
When's this work happening?
Today, 14th December.

What does it affect?
Access to Pay-As-You-Host customers' websites and FTP accounts. The Just-The-Name website at www.just-the-name.co.uk is also likely to be unavailable until further notice.

How long will it take?
The service will remain disabled whilst we continue to investigate the current problem affecting communication between two of our Sheffield data centres.

What does the work involve?
We are disabling access to the platform to avoid the potential for data corruption as we investigate a problem affecting communication between two of our Sheffield data centres.

Is it likely to cause problems?
Yes, you won't be able to access the Pay-As-You-Host or Just-The-Name websites. Customers' hosted websites will be down and it will not be possible to FTP to the servers to upload or transfer content to and/or from your website.

Is there anything else I need to know?
We will post another update as soon as access to the servers has been restored.

Kind Regards,

Bob Pullen
